This two-year commission involved managing a hybrid team of in-house personnel and external service partners utilising PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes methodologies. The projects within the programme included development of Management Arrangements and Systems, IT solutions, Property Compliance, Stakeholder Management and Communications, Supply Chain Management, Training, Verification Audits, Implementation and Competency.

BBC Workplace:

We developed a quality management system for the functions performed by BBC Workplace Services in support of the BBC’s core activities. This included the development of an integrated risk management approach covering safety; environment; security and continuity, and a Property Cycle risk management tool in order to enable BBC Workplace to manage risk from Acquisition, through refurbishment; construction; occupation and operation through to dilapidations and disposal.

We are supporting enhancements to Serco Integrated Transport’s environmental management and crisis management processes.

Firstly, we managed the undertaking of an environmental conference at Kew Gardens involving two days of speakers from across transport and other industries to provide best practice information on a variety of issues.

Secondly, we have developed a wide ranging Environment and Sustainability Strategy covering the their business from end to end focusing on understanding environmental impacts, reducing those impacts and supporting communities to meet their own environmental challenges. This strategy has now been agreed at Board level following review by the contracts, Environmental Steering Group and Risk Oversight Committee.

Thirdly, we have developed a carbon management plan, sitting underneath the above strategy, to enhance the current methodologies for calculating and managing carbon emissions and the associated carbon footprint. Consultation across all SIT contracts has taken place and aligned target dates have now been agreed at Board level.

In addition to the above, we have undertaken environment incident support functions supporting teams following incidents to investigate those incidents and implement remediation and corrective actions.

Separately, we have enhanced their existing divisional crisis management arrangements, are supporting the development and implementation of aligned contract level arrangements.

We have supported Societe Generale with the procurement of a large health and safety service provider to provide specific  services across the UK. This included the development of a service specification, review and scoring of provider proposals and interviewing of potential candidates.

We have undertaken the investigation into personnel ill health potentially caused by work activities and recommended enhancements to existing control measures to reduce the likelihood of any further claims of ill health.

We have developed model operational incident handling manuals for tactical incident managers, predominantly facilities manager and engineers, to enable prompt and effective incident response. This consisted of detailed incident response flowcharts, supporting information on specific incidents, communication cascades and integrated with corporate business continuity and command structures.
